Introducing AI Assist: Query Building Made Easy for Social Listening
by Nancy Dexter-Milling on March 10, 2025
In the world of social listening, the ability to craft precise queries is essential for extracting meaningful insights from the vast ocean of social data. Today, we're excited to announce the launch of Infegy's latest innovation: AI Assist – a powerful new feature designed to transform how you build queries in Infegy Starscape, creating a more efficient workflow for discovering insights.
See it in action in the video below:
The Challenge Of Query Building
Let’s face it. Boolean query writing is hard. Writing boolean queries at scale for a complex task requiring dozens of lookups is even harder. Even experienced analysts struggle with remembering field names and syntax across different social listening platforms. A first step to broadening accessibility in query writing is Infegy Starscape’s Query Builder. It provides visual building blocks to create queries. However, even a seasoned query writer may not use all of the terms or fields that could aid in results.
While this approach works, it often means we're not leveraging the full potential of Infegy Starscape's robust capabilities – until now.
Enter AI Assist: Query Building…Assisted
AI Assist seamlessly integrates with our existing Query Builder, offering an intuitive workflow that not only builds comprehensive queries but also shows its work, allowing you to understand and refine the logic behind each search.
How AI Assist Works
Using AI Assist is remarkably straightforward:
- Click the new ✨AI Assist button in the Query Builder
Figure 1: Screenshot of the AI Assist button within the current Query Builder.
- Type your question in your natural language (or one of the 34 other natural languages we support)– even with typos!
Figure 2: Screenshot of the AI Assist prompt form.
- Within seconds, AI Assist generates a robust query tailored to your needs
Figure 3: Screenshot of query created from the prompt of “what are popular make up trends”.
The system intelligently incorporates elements you might not have considered, such as Content Subject filters that are often overlooked yet provide valuable context and filtering. It also includes or excludes relevant terminology that might not have occurred to you, enhancing the breadth and accuracy of your search.
AI Assist In Action
Consider this example: You want to explore current makeup trends, but you're not an industry expert.
Simply enter "What makeup trends are popular?" and AI Assist immediately constructs a comprehensive query that includes:
- Relevant Content Subjects that provide greater context
- A wide range of makeup-related terms you might have overlooked
- Flexible parameters that you can easily adjust
Need to add a specific term like "eyebrow pen"? Simply click the appropriate box and make your addition – no complex syntax required.

If you then run the query, followed by an AI Summary you can get an answer and a list of top trends, plus each trend explained in detail. (In AI Summaries you can also perform drill downs into each trend as well.)

This powerful tool will:
- Simplify your query-writing process
- Demonstrate how to create more robust, effective queries
- Allows you to integrate new parameters into existing queries or create entirely new ones
Accessible Via The Best API In Social Listening
Just like everything else in Infegy Starscape, we’re bringing AI Assist to the Infegy API. With its straightforward query structure, you can programmatically generate thousands of Starscape queries in seconds.
Figure 7: A workflow showing just how simple Infegy’s AI Assist is via our API.
We’re excited to see the kinds of workflows our clients will build with this scaled query construction. Infegy clients like Technomic already use our API to research thousands of food ingredients. With programmatic access to AI Assist, instead of running simple topic lookups, clients can instantly generate thousands or even millions of customized, expansive queries. Traditionally, building well-crafted queries was one of the most time-consuming parts of social listening. AI Assist, opens the door to surfacing billions more posts per query — unlocking deeper insights and enabling smarter decisions.
A Part Of The AI Bundle
AI Assist joins our existing AI Bundle that includes AI Summaries and AI Personas. This is an add-on available with any Infegy Starscape plan.
Empowering Every Analyst With Intelligent Query Building
With AI Assist, Infegy continues its commitment to making social data more accessible and actionable. By removing the complexity of query building, we're enabling analysts of all experience levels to unlock deeper insights and make more informed strategic decisions.
Experience the power of AI Assist today and transform how you interact with social listening data in Infegy Starscape.
